Moving around

This past week we had to say good bye to lots of our friends here in Moscow before our move out to Siberia.  We will miss all of our friends and we encouraged them all to come visit us.

Yesterday morning a “moving” truck came and took most of our belongings to be shipped out to Siberia.

This morning we woke up bright and early at 5 am to head to the airport to catch a mid-morning flight.  Thanks to our friend Ruvim for driving us there, everything went really well (except for Keira getting car sick on the way to the airport).  But we made it there in time and the kids did well on the short 1.5 hour flight to Ukraine.

We will be in Kiev, Ukraine until we get our visas to be able to return into Russia.  We decided, instead of staying in a hotel that would cost a lot of money, to rent an apartment for a reasonable price.  We found a great place on booking.com that is right in the center of town. When we aren’t busy dealing with visa stuff, we plan on walking around and enjoying the city.

Here is our view from the balcony of the center of town

Moving On

Hi Friends!

We have less than a week left here in Moscow before we move to our next home in Siberia. This is a bittersweet time for us as it is very hard to say goodbye to those that we have come to love here. On the other hand, we are very ready to move on with the work that HE has prepared us to do.

We would ask for your thoughts in the next couple weeks as we head to Ukraine to get new visas, then fly back to Russia and on to Siberia.

Thanks for checking out our blog!

Packing up

Well, it has begun. We’ve started going through all of our belongings. Everything is either getting packed to stay here and be saved until we return, getting packed to come back to the states with us, thrown out or given away.

The girls are enjoying playing with these new “toys” we have all over the place now.  It keeps them entertained for a bit, which helps when we need to get some things done.

A couple from our fellowship is allowing us to keep most of our things with them, which helps us out a lot.  There aren’t really storage areas here and most people have very small apartments, so there aren’t many options for us.

Moving is helping us get rid of some unnecessary things that seem to find there way into the hidden crooks of crannies of our apartment.   The week before we leave, we will move our storage items to the other couples apartment.  After that we will be doing a deep clean of our apartment.

Please be thinking of us and for our time in Germany at conference before we head back to the states, that it would be a time of encouragement and that it would be profitable in better equipping us for the future.
