Sightseeing

Hi Friends,

Today we played tourists and made a trip to Red Square. It was awesome! We have seen so many pictures of St. Basil’s & the Kremlin in photos and movies but to actually be there? So cool! I hope you enjoy the pictures and if you come visit we can take you there, it’s only a 30 minute metro ride.

Thanks for checking out our blog!

We finished up the day with dinner at a local Russian restaurant. Liver & fried onions over mashed potatoes - yum!

Metro & IKEA!

Hi Friends,

Today we had a chance to visit the Swedish store IKEA. This is the most popular place to buy furniture & other household items. There were a couple items that we needed to get for our apartment so we had a fun time walking through the store. It’s huge! After that we headed over to the food court in the mall to get some dinner. Burger King just came to Moscow and our friend Julie has not had a Whopper for 3+ years so she was excited to eat there. I also posted some more pics of the Metro that we ride almost everyday. Enjoy!

Thanks for checking out our blog! =)

Moscow has a really nice metro

At a local restaurant last night I tried Azerbaijani lemonade - delicious! (it doesn't taste anything like lemonade though)

IKEA!

At IKEA we spent 13,038 Rubles. Can anyone guess how many dollars?

New things

Hey friends! We’ll try to keep posting pictures as we take them. Hopefully we’ll be doing some sightseeing this week before we start our language lessons.

In this next picture, Violet wanted to play with the little boy but I don’t think he wanted anything to do with her. She even gave him a hug! But he didn’t really respond. I think his grandma thought it was kind of funny too. But we couldn’t understand what she was saying to her grandson.

Soon, a friend is coming over to help me work the washer. It’s kind of difficult knowing which buttons to push considering they are in German. We are so thankful for a washer, and it will be even better when I learn how to operate it!
