Sushi Night

A couple of nights ago I had a bunch of girls over for a sushi night that we have been wanting to do for some time. I don’t consider myself a pro or anything close to that when it comes to making sushi, but I’m the only one who has made it a number of times before. So the girls gathered at our apartment and after a brief tutorial on how to assemble sushi, everyone had a go at at it themselves and did a great job. It was fun to let everyone decide what they wanted to put in their own roll and then see all the different varieties to choose from when they were cut. And they were all so delicious, we only had a few pieces left over! And for those of you who don’t like sushi because of raw fish, there are other options. I did not get raw fish just to be on the safe side. Even though I do like eating the raw stuff in restaurants (well, not now during the pregnancy). We used cooked shrimp, fake crab, canned tuna (mixed with mayo and spicy asian sauce), cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese.

If you ever want to try making it yourself, there are recipes on Allrecipes.com (which is one of my favorite websites, by the way) and videos on youtube.com that really explain everything and make it super easy to try yourself.
