Some urgent requests

Hi Friends!

In the next couple months we have some additional, necessary expenses that are not in our monthly budget. We have been able to save some funds toward these items but as of today we do not have enough. Would you specifically think about these for us? We are so thankful to have friends and family who take an active part in our work here.

Visa renewals – $1500
Survey Trip to Siberia – $1500
Insurance – $1500

Also, because of events outside our control, there is a slight possibility that we may have to leave the country if we do not receive our new visas in time. Please ask that this will not happen! We do not want to have to spend even more money on travel expenses.

Language Evaluation

Hi Friends,

All of last week Katrina & I were evaluated in our progress of learning the Russian language and culture. A very distinguished consultant flew in for the week and we spent time discussing our current schedule, our culture knowledge and future goals. We also sat down with a native speaker and conversed for about 30 minutes. This conversation was recorded and then analyzed by our consultant. After our conversation was analyzed, we sat down with the consultant and discussed how we did. He told us the good things and the bad things, then he gave us some goals to work on for the next six month. Overall, we were very happy with the results. We are both progressing well and with continued hard work, I think we will both end up speaking well.

Thanks to those of you who thought of us during this time, it can be a little stressful but we came out unscathed. Now I guess I should go study. =)

Monthly Meeting

Hi Friends!

Well after a long week of language checks and consultation we got together on Friday for our monthly meeting. Usually it is a bit more serious but since we had a long week we just had lunch together followed by a Wii bowling tournament! Check back next week when I will write in more detail about our language progress.
